Grenzeloos Wonen
Grenzeloos Wonen
Grenzeloos Wonen is a residential development comprising five contemporary villas in Gemmenich, Belgium, located along the Dutch–Belgian border. The design adopts a landscape-led approach, with each villa carefully positioned to respond to the site's topography, orientation, and surrounding open landscape. Organized through a rational modular grid, the approximately 250 m² residences combine spatial efficiency, flexibility, and a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces, expressed through a restrained and timeless architectural language. The project is driven by principles of circular construction and sustainable design, emphasizing low-carbon materials, prefabricated modular systems, and design for disassembly to extend material lifecycles and reduce environmental impact. Passive design strategies and energy-efficient building systems further minimize operational energy demand, creating a resilient residential model that integrates architectural clarity, environmental responsibility, and long-term adaptability.
